2024 Special Olympics State Equestrian & Cornhole Championships (Ocala, FL)

Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Equestrian and Cornhole Championships on April 5-6 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida!

Dates: Thursday, April 4 - Saturday, April 6, 2024

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following tasks: 

1. Set-up Assistant: Help get the event ready the day before the competition. Help unload vehicles, organize and distribute items throughout the complex, place out signage, etc. **Should have the ability to lift 25lbs**
2. Equestrian Assistant: Work with the Competition Management team to assist with putting on the equestrian event. This could include tasks such as serving at athlete check-in, escorting athletes to/from the field of play, or resetting the trail course obstacles. Some volunteers in this role will also help prepare and present awards and assist with lunch distribution.
3. Cornhole Assistant: Serve as scorekeeper and at athlete check-in for the Cornhole competition. Some volunteers in this role will also help prepare and present awards and assist with lunch distribution.
4. Opening Night Celebration Assist: Monitor the entrance for the Opening Night Celebration and mark off the wristband of those attending.

A knowledge of the sport is NOT required for any position - we will teach you everything you need to know! Volunteers will receive a T-Shirt for their participation. Lunch will be provided for those working shifts longer than 4 hours.
